🏆 Bank of Baroda wins Rajbhasha Kirti Award — but loses in real implementation!

While Bank of Baroda has been conferred with the Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar — the highest national honor for excellence in implementing the official language policy — the irony is hard to miss.

Despite this recognition, many of the bank’s recent circulars and communications continue to be issued predominantly in English, with Hindi often limited to a mere cover note.

This practice undermines the true spirit of the Rajbhasha policy and the linguistic inclusivity envisioned by our Constitution.

The All India Bank of Baroda Officers’ Union (AIBOBOU) has written to the management urging:

Issuance of all circulars bilingually with equal prominence to Hindi and English.

Ensuring complete Hindi versions, not just Symbolic translation.

Instituting review mechanisms for Rajbhasha compliance in all future communications.

🗣️ True honor lies not in the trophy, but in the practice.
